Opportunities
Vision
We envision a world in which engineering is a mainstream word in homes and communities of color, and all Black students can envision themselves as engineers. In this world, Blacks exceed parity in entering engineering fields, earning degrees, and succeeding professionally.

National Mission
The mission of the National Society of Black Engineers is "to increase the number of culturally responsible Black Engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community."

Georgetown Mission
In addition to the national mission of NSBE, at Georgetown the NSBE chapter exists to provide all STEM majors, especially minority students, with both academic and professional support. We believe that in order for students to succeed after graduation, certain steps in and out of the classroom must be taken, and the Georgetown Chapter of NSBE will help students take those steps. We also believe that it is our responsibility to reach back into the community, and encourage more young students to pursue STEM fields.
